Horses Help Disabled Children No. 27-0646-01
This project will be held in 15 horse training centers, and then in 15 hippo therapy centers spread out in the eastern part of Poland. This region of Poland is the most agricultural and poorest part of the country. The aim of the project is to assist the horse breeders and horse training centers in the region of Lublin who will be providing for the development of hippo therapy centers for the handicapped children and to make them accessible for the poorest families.
To help handicapped children through hippo therapy, HPI will purchase 15 horses from selected horse breeders for 15 horse training centers. After one year of training, the horses will be prepared for therapeutic use with children and will be transferred to the hippo therapy centers. The cost of the horse training will be covered by the Polish Association of Hippo therapy. The value of the horse itself will be passed on by the hippo-therapy centers to the poorest rural families in a form of free therapeutic sessions for the handicapped children. In sum, this project will assist 15 horse breeders and 15 family horse training caters to improve their income. At the same time it will help at least 30 rural families receive free hippo therapy for their handicapped children for one year duration.
