Arable land covers almost 60% of total community area. Very poor soil determines field structure that is mainly rye and forage crops.

There are very good conditions for cattle development in there due to supportive structure of arable grounds, high share of grassland in total land and long tradition of cattle breeding. The region of Kielce has been always one of the poorest one in the country. The situation of its inhabitants has been additionally worsen lately because of damages caused to the region by flood and hails. The farmers of this region, therefore, are in a very difficult economic situation and are not able to purchase heifers for their farms and to increase production to help their families. HPI decided to purchaser one Simmental heifer for each of 20 families included in the project. This multi-purpose cattle will provide the farmers with both milk and meat. Priority in delivering animals will receive farmers who wish to continue working on their farms and generate income mainly from agricultural activity.
